George Parker & Charlie Lee progress to West of Ireland semi-finals

George Parker and Charlie Lee both progressed to the semi-finals of the West of Ireland Open in Galway with impressive quarterfinal victories.

Top seed George Parker defeated Welsh No.3 Emyr Evans 11-9 6-11 11-13 11-2 in the 1st round and overcame David Baillargeon 11-9 11-4 11-6 in the quarter-finals.

Charlie Lee, who defeated Ireland’s Connor Sheen 11-3 11-5 11-7 in the 1st round, progressed to the semi-finals with an equally impressive 11-9 8-11 11-8 7-11 11-6 victory over 2nd seed Auguste Dussourd.

Patrick Rooney fell at the quarter-final stage having beaten fourth seed Mike McCue of Canada 8-11 11-6 11-8 11-8 in his 1st round match, whilst fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Rory Stewart was beaten 11-6 11-8 11-6 by Daniel Mekbib of the Czech Republic in the 1st round.

In the semi-finals of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) M10 World Tour event George Parker will play Charles Sharpes whilst Charlie Lee will play Nick Sachvie of Canada.
