Joel Makin beats Richie Fallows to reach Tring Open semi-finals

Joel Makin defeated Richie Fallows 11-6 11-7 11-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Tring Squash Open being staged at Tring Squash Rackets Club in Hertfordshire, England.

"I’m happy to have got off in three games as it's good to stay as fresh as you can when getting to the later stages of a tournament, said Makin after his impressive 58-minute quarter-final victory. “I felt I played better than last time we played and Richie seemed to really struggle mentally. "I'm really enjoying the club, the hospitality and the organisation of this event," added the Welsh No.1 who defeated Fallows last week in the final of the British U23 Championships to win the prestigious title.

Joel will today play fifth seed Greg Lobban of Scotland who beat German No.2 Raphael Kandra in his first Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour event since returning from injury.

The inaugural Tring Squash Open is a M15 PSA World Tour event.
