Joel Makin pushes Karim Abdel Gawad in J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions

Joel Makin underlined his undoubted potential with a superlative performance against former World Champion and tournament fourth seed Karim Abdel Gawad of Egypt in the 1st round of the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions being staged inside New York’s iconic Grand Central Terminal.

The Welsh No.1 & British U23 Champion took the opening game in their 1st round clash before World No.4 Gawad closed-out a tight 51-minute 10-12 11-4 11-7 11-7 victory.
