Patrick Rooney qualifies for Irish Squash Open

Patrick Rooney defeated Conor Moran and compatriot Lyall Fuller to reach the main draw of the 2018 Irish Squash Open being staged in at the Fitzwilliam Club in Dublin.

Patrick Rooney, the British U23 Champion, defeated Conor Moran in four games before fighting back from two games down in the final round of qualification to beat Lyall Fuller 7-11 8-11 11-5 12-10 11-4.

The young Englishman joins fellow UNSQUASHABLE players Joel Makin, Josh Masters and George Parker in the 1st round of for the Professional Squash Association (PSA) M15 World Tour event. Patrick Rooney will play Richie Fallows in his opening match whilst Joel Makin, Josh Master and George Parker will play Michael McCue (Canada), Mohammed Syafiq Kamal (Malaysia) and Rui Soares (Portugal) respectively.
