Sarah-Jane Perry wins opening match at Hong Kong Open

Sarah-Jane Perry will contest an all-British third round encounter against Tesni Evans of Wales after defeating Zeina Mickawy in her opening match at the Everbright Sun Hung Kai Hong Kong Squash Open being staged at the Hong Kong National Squash Centre.

Sarah-Jane Perry defeated Zeina Mickawy of Egypt 8-11 11-4 11-7 11-8 in 40 minutes.

Perry and Evans met at last month’s U.S. Open, where Evans ended a six-match losing streak against Perry to become the first Welsh player ever to reach the semi-finals of that tournament.

Fellow UNSQUASHABLE players Joel Makin and Josh Masters were unable to progress into the last sixteen of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour Platinum event after losses to Declan James of England and Eain Yow Ng of Malaysia respectively.

George Parker, who beat Campbell Grayson of New Zealand in his 1st round match, will play Tsz Fung Yip of Hong Kong.
