UNSQUASHABLE players continue to impress at World Team Championships

James Willstrop, Iker Pajares Bernabeu and Bernat Jaume all recorded impressive wins at the 2017 WSF Men’s World Team Squash Championships in Marseille.

James Willstrop helped England to a 3-0 victory over India with an error-free 26-minute 11-4 9-11 11-8 victory over Vikram Malhotra whilst Iker Pajares Bernabeu and Bernat Jaume both recorded wins to help Spain overcome Canada in the 9th to 16th play-offs - Iker Pajares Bernabeu beat Nick Sachvie 11-8 7-11 12-10 11-5 and Bernat Jaume beat Michael McCue 11-9 11-8 4-11 11-6.

Earlier exertions and workload appeared to take its toll on Welsh No.1 and fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Joel Makin who will play no further part in the championships after discovering discomfort in a five-game battle against US No.1 Todd Harrity – Joel will stay with his Welsh teammates but will focus on preparing for next week’s AJ Bell PSA World Championships in Manchester.
