Patrick Rooney & George Parker to contest all UNSQUASHABLE Welsh Open final

Patrick Rooney and George Parker produced spectacular wins to ensure an all UNSQUASHABLE Welsh Open final at the Rhiwbina Recreation Club in Cardiff.

George Parker defeated fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Joshua Masters to produce a huge upset in the first semi-final as the qualifier defeated the number one seed 11-8 11-9 11-9 in 45-minutes to progress to his second successive Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour final. A large crowd witnessed a great performance and although Masters played a significant part it was Parker who closed-out each game solidly.

In the second semi-final, Patrick Rooney played a sublime game of squash to beat Peter Creed 6-11 11-8 11-5 11-6 in 55 minutes. Creed hit the ground running to take the first game and a place in the final looked on the cards. However, a big crowd roared him on but he seemed to lose his length as Rooney stepped up his incredible all-court game. Surely destined for much higher things he slotted the ball away with regularity.
