It was an exciting semifinals day, seeing four UNSQUASHABLE Junior Ambassadors make it to their respective finals.

In the Boys’ Under-19 draw, top seeded Max Forster and Jack Mitterer faced each other in an all-UNSQUASHABLE clash. Jack beat out Max this time in straight sets, 11-9,11-6, 11-9, and will face the winner of Jared Carter and Ben Smith in the finals tomorrow.

Yusuf Sheikh in the Boys’ Under-15 beat out Abd-Allah Eissa in the semifinals. After a tight first game, Yusuf dominated the next two sets, claiming a bagel in the second and restricting his opponent to just 4 points in the final set. Charlie McCrone faced Abd-Allah’s sister in her semifinal, and also claimed a win. Charlie had to bounce back from 2-1 down to win in five.

Saran Nghiem once again justified her top billing in the Girls’ Under-17 as she beat out Amy Royle in three. She will be up against Asia Harris who upset second seeded Torrie Malik in five long sets. Saran will be looking to avenge her loss against Asia in the most recent Gold event.

In the other draws, Ali Khalil came from 2-0 down to earn a place in the playoffs for 5th place, while brother Ismail Khalil lost out in four and will play for the 13th position. Harry Bloomfield had many tough matches and will be up for 29th place tomorrow.
