UNSQUASHABLE Ambassadors Joel Makin and Iker Pajares Bernabeu both booked their places at the Windy City Open, PSA World Tour Platinum event.

Joel Makin had his match early in the afternoon, against Gregoire Marche. The Frenchman started off the blocks quicker, claiming the first set for the lead 11-7. But Joel managed to bounce back, and wear his opponent down taking the next three 11-6, 11-5, 11-4 for a 3-1 win in a little over an hour. Joel will next be up against World No. 7 Diego Elias whom he beat in their previous meeting a little more than a month ago at the Tournament of Champions.

Iker Pajares Bernabeu was looking to follow up an impressive performance that saw him take out Scotsman Alan Clyne in straight sets. Up against Arturo Salazar of Mexico, he took the first two sets with a close margin of 11-8 and 12-10. The tie-break seemed to spur on his opponent as he came back and took the next two with 11-5 score lines to level. Not willing to give up the match, Iker pulled through with an 11-6 win in the final set, setting himself up for a game against World Champion Tarek Momen.
