The action down in Nottingham starts today with the qualifying rounds underway for the Men’s Open. Both UNSQUASHABLE ambassadors impressed in their first round, winning in straight sets.
Connor Sheen was first up and a slow start from his opponent David Allman gave him the first game 11-3. The next two were much more competitive, but Connor held his opponent off to claim the games 11-8, 11-9.
Meanwhile, Josh Masters made his competitive return to professional squash as he overpowered his opponent Oscar Hill with a comfortable 11-3, 11-4, 11-5 scoreline in just 16 minutes.
Both players will have to win two more matches tomorrow if they are to take one of the four spots available in the main draw. UNSQUASHABLE Junior Ambassador Saran Nghiem will also begin her campaign in the women’s draw with her first match up against British U23 Open finalist Kiera Marshall.
