After a win with a comfortable margin in the second-to-last round of qualifying against Mark Fuller, UNSQUASHABLE ambassador Josh Masters met his match in the form of 21-year old Charlie Lee. The first two sets were nail-bitingly close as Josh lost out 16-14 and 13-11 in each of them. He ran out of steam in the third set, falling 11-6 after 50 minutes. Connor Sheen also failed to qualify after losing to James Peach in three.

Junior ambassador Saran Nghiem went up against British U23 Open finalist Kiera Marshall and put up a good fight claiming the second set. However, Marshall was still too strong and finished the game in four sets.

Tomorrow sees the main draw in action as Joel Makin and James Willstrop feature as the top two seeds and will face qualifiers Sam Todd and Charlie Lee respectively. George Parker will find himself up against Scotsman Greg Lobban and Patrick Rooney will face the Dark Knight, Declan James for a place in the quarters.
