All three UNSQUASHABLE ambassadors in the first round of the Edinburgh Open have made it into the second round after a day of intense matches.

Fergus Richards opened the day with the longest match against fellow Scotsman Chris Ferguson. Having found himself 1-0 down after a tie-break, he bounced back to capture the lead 2-1. However, he could not stop a comeback from Ferguson, needing to take the match to the fifth before winning after 67 minutes. He will next face second seed and world no. 5 Paul Coll in the round of 16.

Rory Stewart was up against Egyptian Omar El Bokl, and had a tough first game, edging Omar out 11-8. The next two sets were comparatively straightforward as Rory Stewart won with a commanding 11-3 scoreline in both.

Miles Jenkins wraps up the day with a win against Scotsman Peter Gagliardini. He won the match in straight sets, in just over 20 minutes.

Rory Stewart and Miles Jenkins will both face joint-fifth seeds Alan Clyne and Declan James respectively in the next round. We will also see another UNSQUASHABLE ambassador jump into action in the next round as Joel Makin is set to take on Jamie Henderson of Scotland.
