In the first matches of the day, USA faced Egypt after last minute seeding changes. UNSQUASHABLE ambassador, Todd Harrity played World No. 1 Ali Farag and saved two match balls to force a fourth set. However, he eventually lost to Farag 3-1 in 47 minutes.

Rory Stewart played Singaporean Brandon Tan in Scotland’s first match of the tournament. Ranked more than 400 places above his opponent, he walked away with a comfortable 3-0 win after just 22 minutes.

The second round of matches of the day saw Iker Pajares play South African Christo Potgieter. Iker stayed in control throughout the match and saw off his opponent in less than half an hour with a 3-0 win, 11-5, 11-5, 11-5.

The final matches of the day saw James Willstrop and Joel Makin secure wins for their respective countries. Willstrop faced Canadian World No. 92, Michael McCue and had strong form in the first two games. He dropped the third to McCue before closing out the fourth to win 11-8, 11-5, 2-11, 11-7.

Joel Makin faced Babatunde Ajagbe in Wales’ match against Nigeria. He had a tough first two games, before managing to cruise through the final game with a score line of 11-5, 11-8, 11-2.

The second round of matches later today will see Wales take on England and a match-up between New Zealand and Scotland, both potentially seeing two UNSQUASHABLE ambassadors.
